The Gold Dust Twins
Ricky and Randy Smith,
from China Grove, NC, known in the kickboxing circuit as the Gold
Dust Twins, were the NKA Tag-Team Kickboxing Champions of the world
in 1977 & 1978. The Gold Dust Twins were members of the undefeated Charlotte
Warhawks five-man kickboxing team. Ricky and Randy are founders of
SideKick Karate Dojos. The Smith Brothers credentials are 6th
degree black belts in American Open Shorei/Shorin Karatedo under Jerry
Piddington, 6th degree black belts in American Jee Do Kwan
Korean Karate under Dave Adams, 5th degree black belts under
the Joe Lewis Fighting Systems, and 5th dans in Shuri-ryu
under John Pachivas. Ricky and Randy were inducted into the World
Martial Arts Hall of Fame as Instructors of the Year in 1994. The twins
are also founders of Double Impact Ministries, using karate as a
tool to reach the youth of America.

utilize ‘being twins’ to provide a unique and easy to follow
instructional method to Get Started in Karate. This video
is five 30-minute lessons of good fundamental karatedo. The program is
designed to learn one lesson at a time. Each lesson reviews the previous
material in less detail allowing the practitioner to perform at a faster
pace. This video course will enable a beginner student to walk into any
karate school with confidence.
